Ok, so this is kind of a two-in-one post. So get ready.
I am AMAZED at not only God's FAITHFULNESS, but also His incredible TIMING!
What I've noticed is that the closer we get to God (in our relationship with Him), the more holy [set apart for Him] we become. It's not based on things that we've done [our so-called righeous acts], but simply on His grace [unmerited favor]. I've also seen that the more we become like Jesus (in our thoughts, words, and actions [everyday life]), the more we see (because of the Holy Spirit living in us) how much sin [falling short of God's standard of perfection] is still in us.
What's so amazing about this grace and faithfulness, is that even though we are so far from being perfect (in this life), God still chooses (because He is faithful) to walk beside us as we grow to be more like Him daily. As we seek Him, He still blesses, speaks, encourages, forgives, rebukes, and carries us...because He is faithful. He is awesome.
I know my sin. Where I struggle. Where I fall short. I know in "my knower" that I don't deserve ANYTHING from God, but yet not only do I get it, He gives it freely to those who seek Him. Why? Because He is good. Because He is faithful. Because He loves us sooo much! When He looks at a person who has been born again (of the Spirit of God), He doesn't see thier sin because they've been cleansed, washed clean, and clothed with His righteousness. He is awesome.
This all brings me to my last point. Like I've said, I know my sin and I know I don't deserve blessing from God, but yet He's giving it to me.
And let me just say this...that's NOT a ticket to sin. Since I know that I don't deserve it, but yet I recieve it, I want to (out of a proper response to God) be more holy [set apart for Him] and be more like Him. Because I love Him.
One of the many things that God is doing right now is showing me the importance of doing what He's called and gifted me to do. For me that's computer stuff (graphic design, web design, and video editing). I haven't really been pursuing it too much lately (as a career), but here is the blessing (that I don't deserve)...Cindy Hawkins is teaching a workshop in 9 hours (I better hurry up) on "Making the Most of Your Talents - Get, Keep, and Grow in a Job". That's exactly what I need! What an awesome blessing! Then (if that's not enough), in two weeks there is another one, "Making the Most of Your Time - The Balancing Act". I can't wait! And THEN... "Making the Most of Your Money - Financial Stewardship".
It's almost too much! But yet...it's not. There's more. Why? Because God is faithful.
If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself.
2 Timothy 2:13
This is all true.. and by the way, how was the workshop? And why was Mrs. Patricia teaching you all about formal-dinner manners?
